While the past week has seen some really hot weather it has not stopped the hard core fishos from getting out there amongst the great fishing on offer. Lee headed over to Norfolk Island this week to film some shows for Adventure Bound and he called us with a quick report. We will get the full story of his trip when he returns.

Port Phillip Bay
Mordialloc Pier has been fishing well for garfish over the last past week. Staff member Eren has been heading down after work and smashing them. Best baits have been silverfish, maggots, and peeled prawn. Berley is the key to bring them around and keep them around. The best berley has been the Bait Mate ground berleys in three special flavours.
Mordialloc creek is still producing bream. The best method has been using the new Dyna Bait Tube Worms. They are ranging from under size to 35cm with a few up around 40cms. The best times to give them a go is when the water is stirred up and a bit rough near the mouth.
A bit further up the creek there have been some nice trevally being taken. Best baits have been peeled prawns and small fillets of pilchards. Burley has been the key to bringing them on.
The whiting have been on the go from the Horse Paddocks right up in to Beaumaris Bay. Best times have been early morning and fishing in close as shallow as 3m of water. Some anglers have been fishing the beach off Parkdale and catching a few nice whiting right on dark. Top baits have been pippies, mussels, and tube worms.
Eren and Anton fished off Mt Martha rocks on last Thursday evening for some squid. They ended up with 10 squid all taken on Harimitsu 2.5 colors BC and EWC. The boys also tried their luck at Mornington Pier but didn’t have much success.

Morne and good mate Anton fished Mt Martha rocks on Tuesday night for some squid. The boys ended up with 4 squid all taken on Harimitsu 2.5 jigs in colors EPN and MN. All the squid were taken right on dark.
Customer Mark Bolger fished off one of the many little beaches near Mornington on Monday night. He ended up with a few nice whiting taken on Ppppies and fresh Squid. Way to go mate.

Jody and Gary fished off Sorrento in Saturday. They ended up with 32 garfish a couple of squid. The gars were taken on fresh squid and small pieces of pilly. Jody tried something new on the gars and it worked. They ran out of burley so Jody crushed up some Thins Light and Tangy chips for berley and put some on a hook and started to catch the gars on chips. Way to go Jody!
Patterson River
Good mate Darren Jansen and daughter Katja and mate Stuart aka “Bream Pro” headed out on Sunday in the heat for some bream. Katja showed the boys how it was done, by catching the most bream. Stuart pulled off an amazing capture with the smallest bream for the day on a 4” Berkley Gulp Sandworm. The top baits for day where tubeworms and Scrub worms.

Good customers Steve, Dave and Rowan headed out of the South Channel Marker and caught 50 squid. Steve said that they caught their bag of squid in less then 2 hours then spent the rest of the morning catching and releasing more squid! All squid were taken on Harimitsu 2.5 and all colours worked on the day with EWC being the best of them.
